Your Child and the Public Education System

You Need to Know…
• Your child has right to a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) that meets your child's unique educational needs.

• Above all else, you know your child better than anyone.

• You should never be afraid to ask questions about your child's education.

• You do not have to sign the IEP right away. Take it home and look it over to make sure everything is correct.

• If you need support or someone to attend the meeting with you, contact ADD at 507-451-9769.
